Ethan Denneen is a versatile and resilient football athlete whose journey through collegiate football reflects determination, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to development both on and off the field. Standing 6’1” and weighing 250 pounds, Ethan primarily plays Defensive End and Long Snapper, while also bringing experience at Defensive Tackle and Tight End throughout his collegiate career.
Originally from Arroyo Grande, Ethan began his collegiate football career at Monterey Peninsula College, where he contributed to a Golden Coast Conference Championship team in 2018 and a Presidents Trophy appearance in 2019. During the Presidents Trophy game against Hartnell, Ethan recorded two sacks, showcasing his ability to impact games at a high level.
After his time at MPC, Ethan continued his career at Pacific University during the COVID-affected 2020-2021 season before later transferring to Fitchburg State University, where he completed two additional seasons of NCAA Division III football. In his final collegiate game during the 2024-2025 season, he recorded six tackles, one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble.
Ethan is known for his preparation, discipline, and football IQ. He prides himself on detailed pass-rush preparation, studying and documenting multiple techniques and counters to maximize performance on the field. Coaches and teammates consistently recognize his coachability, professionalism, and dependability. Throughout five collegiate football seasons, Ethan maintained perfect attendance at practices and avoided any disciplinary issues — a testament to his commitment and team-first mentality.
Beyond football, Ethan currently competes in men’s rugby in California while also working in construction. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade teaching surfing, helping individuals from diverse backgrounds develop confidence and skill in the water. His passion for mentorship extends into football as well, having assisted in coaching and developing prospects at multiple football camps.
Ethan’s interests outside of sports include surfing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking, and skateboarding. He is passionate about community service and hopes to continue supporting charitable causes related to Multiple Sclerosis awareness, food insecurity, youth mentorship, and community athletic development.
A hardworking athlete with strong leadership qualities, positional versatility, and a relentless work ethic, Ethan Denneen continues to pursue professional football opportunities while also aspiring to positively impact younger athletes through mentorship and player development.
